I want some new dresses.
Wedding season will be here before you know it and it’s time to start looking for dresses! I’ve been a good girl and have recycled a lot of my wedding wear over the past couple years, but I’m ready for a new frock. Dress shopping is always stressful for me – broad shoulders, short waist and long legs don’t leave you with a lot of options that actually look good, so I’m going to start early and try to get something that is timeless and fits like a glove. Let the hunt begin….
I want to read the Hunger Games.
I’ve heard such great things about this book series. I’m still trying to figure out when to read it though because I’ve committed myself to trying out seeing a movie before reading the book. I had trouble enjoying the film versions of The Help and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo since I read the books first. I spend the whole movie comparing what I remember from the book to the movie. It really takes away from the viewing experience.
I want to constantly remind myself of this.

I love this mantra. I know it probably sounds harsh and life-sucking, but it is true. To reach one’s goals you have to put in the work. But that being said, after a few years of tying myself up with rules and schedules, I’ve loosened up and started living life more. I’ve come to realize that you can reach your goals and have fun at the same time, but you have to stay focused and stick to the plan.
